You could probably fit one of her in there for a heroic intervention

i understand what you mean but risk factor is very important because if they don't give you the card draw then that is potentially 8 damage for 1 card.  That is massive value just from one card and sometimes that extra damage will get them within burn range and you have 7 other sources in the deck that burn for 3 damage.  I really don't like seeing the deck without risk factor.  However, that doesn't mean that you can't play the deck without it. :)

This deck did amazing at last night's FNM! I took first place with it! Everyone up at my local shop likes to "net deck" for the best decks out there so getting first with this deck was certainly unexpected but it was very rewarding to say the least. I won against grixis and r/u control, b/w tokens, and mardu vehicles. Mardu vehicles was the easiest matchup and the hardest was the token build. All in all I am going to take this deck to bigger tournaments and couldn't be more excited to. Not only is it powerful but it is extremely fun to play! If anyone is looking for a red black standard deck then I assure you that this is the deck you are going to want to play! -earthshaker khenra is AMAZING!

You know I didn't really think about Hazoret because of the late drops being stuck in your hand all the time but it might actually be a better option than the scorpion god. I plus it has hast like a lot of the other creatures in the deck so that makes more sense. Thanks for the great idea!

yea i agree about the soul scar mage and the fatal pushes. I think the soul scar mage should be in the sideboard against aggro and you should swap them with the bomat couriers from the main board. as for the fatal pushes, I thought of them and really like them. I was really contemplating on whether or not to use those over magma spray and my pro friends agreed that magma spray is better only because of the recursion from a lot of the creatures that are in standard and i dont wanna put both in because it already has plenty of removal. when it came to shock v.s. magma spray i ended up choosing magma spray for the same reason i said earlier and if it ever did come to needing that last bit of damage to hit the other player, you just need to use ribbons if you have them in your graveyard. Thanks for that comment though i am definitely putting some soul-scar mages in the sideboard.

true but in this case, for this deck to curve out consistantly we need it as a 1 drop instead of a two drop because we already have eight 2 drop creatures in the deck. This way we have a more fair chance to have a great turn one and we don't have to contest with the other 2 drops.

red black god of glory

This deck was made to hit hard and fast. It was made with a couple of reoccurring creatures to try and keep a strong board state to attack with as well as a really strong curve into The Scorpion God and Glorybringer as late game finishers. If somehow the deck is still having trouble finding the last bit of damage then it has the option to use Ribbons and Earthshaker Khenra (eternalized) to also help finish the match. This deck also has a very large amount of strong answers in the form of Cut, Unlicensed Disintigration, Magma Spray, and Glorybringer's Exert ability to make it hard for the opponent to keep a good board state. The deck also has card advantage in the form of Bomat Courier and Chandra, Torch of Defiance. Overall I believe this deck will be something quite powerful even if it still need a little bit of tweaking.
