Deck Comments / Re: Orzhov Midrange - Comments

Thanks for the comment. I feel like Bob is a must here. It's the main source of card advantage, and no other two drop in Orzhov could fit better. It's painful, but that's why there are 3 copies instead of 4. Also, we have ways of gaining life back in the main deck: Batterskull, Kaya's Guile and Obzedat.

I actually had 3 Tormod's in my initial build but I just dropped 'em. The thing is: the Graveyard decks are not so strong right now. We have Dredge and CrabVine and both of them can't compete with the aggressiveness and wideness of our tokens.

So the plan against Graveyard decks is to ignore their recursion and fill the board with tokens and lords, applying pressure. That's the main plan. Prized Amalgams, Narcomoebas and Vengevines mostly can't compete with that. Dredge's Conflagrate is also weak after a resolved lord.

So I just took out Tormod's Crypt and basically added additional copies of Path and Tribunal when needed (on the draw, mostly).

Good job! I guess that Whiper Agent or Lost Legion are definitely better options than Audacious Thief, though.

Deck Reviews / Re: [Standard] Merfolk Unblockable Counter

Hello  :)

I feel like there are too much non-creature spells. If you want an aggro deck, my suggestion would be: lower the mana curve and add more Merfolk instead of spells like Dive Down and Waterknot. In this deck you can easily put somewhere between 28 to 32 creatures with the current mana base. Your final goal is to flood the board with creatures, put some counters on them, attack your opponent and bounce stuff back with Unsummon and River's Rebuke. This is the real potential of Merfolk in standard.

Specific notes:
- I don't agree with Jace in this deck because it is too slow. Silvergill Adept makes more sense as a card draw that's also a creature.
- Merfolk Branchwalker and Jadelight Ranger are too strong to not make it in this list. Kumena's Speaker is fine too as a one drop.
- Sphinx of Magosi will be a dead card in your hand most of the times. Too big, too slow.
- Unless you're on a budget list, Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca is strong and will close out games. Also, it has sinergy with Herald of Secret Streams.

Hope it helps.

Thanks! After your feedback I made some changes as shown below:

[OUT]
1x Emissary of Sunrise (still maintaining it though since most of the time it'll be a 3/2 first striker; also has sinergy with Short Sword and Kwende).
1x Skymarcher Aspirant
2x Compulsory Rest
1x Kwende, Pride of Femeref

[IN]
2x Adorned Pouncer (it's good as a late game threat, also it's kind of dangerous with Short Sword equipped and/or Benalish Marshall pump)
2x Thopter Arrest
1x Danitha Capashen, Paragon

Still not sure about the Legion's Landing, specially because it is legendary and sometimes extra copies will be a dead draw in the first two turns, where I really want to go off. Gonna do some testing with the current list before using it.

Deck: Mono White Weenie DOM

Hello guys. I would appreciate some criticism on this deck.  ;)

- Start with an aggressive hand and put the early pressure; since you have 26 creatures, you're not afraid of trading some (p.s.: in some cases you'll want to preserve Knights for Benalia's pump, though). Note that first strike is abundant here (which is why Kwende, pride of Femeref is in the deck).

- Zhalfirin Void and Emissary of Sunrise will give you some gas to find what you need such as History of Benalia, Benalish Marshal and Kwende, Pride of Femeref.

- The sideboard includes ways of dealing with common threats found in aggro and control decks.
