Tokens already would have a lifelink from Teysa, and lifegain is not an important theme for this deck...
Also, what cards would you suggest to replace?

The cat deck looks a bit stronger, with lots of synergies and the Hungry Lynx acting as a complete shutdown against the rats. I would recommend cutting the Hungry Lynx and maybe one or two Ajani's Pridemate's, but that's just my two cents.

Thank you for your input.
I agree, 4 hungry lynx was a bit much - opponent wouldnt be able to get rid of them all. Also, yeah, a lot of lifelink in there... I think this version is better.

Hi. I've thought about a simple fun duel decks for introducing novice players to magic. Requirements were - cheap, fun to play, simple but with a potential for variable gameplay, and of course balanced. This is what i came up with.

Deck: cats vs rats (cats)

Deck: cats vs rats (rats)

So... Are they sufficiently balanced? Any suggestions or comments?

My thoughts on Thousand-year storm is that its a long-game finisher, but not much else - and there are a lot of draw to compensate for fast casting. You're probably right tho, but it requires playtesting.

Risk factor are a side option to change with hypothesizzle - to counter steel leaf champion, you need a 4-dmg removal, and monogreen stompy can ignore 4 dmg to the face cause of its tempo. They still could be swapped to main to increase the tempo - depends on the opponent.

Board wipe is a very good idea, i didnt think of that - tokens arent really in the current meta... Fiery cannonade seems like a very good idea.

Also, there simply arent any answers to carnage tyrant in the current UR standard. Uncounterable hexproof... The only way to kill it is a combat exchange with niv-mizzet. I really dont want to make that deck a 3-color. :)

Why use prey upon in the dino-only deck? Savage stomp is a better choice.
