General Magic / Re: Experience with Commander-like formats

If you need inspiration for and Oathbreaker deck, try Narset of the Ancient Way with a signature spell of Battle Hymn. This deck is all about cards that say "whenever you cast an instant or sorcery, create a */* (doesn't matter) creature token. Get two of those out plus Narset, and you can cast battle hymn for infinite mana and infinite tokens.

Although I do not like these mechanically unique Secret Lairs, I do appreciate that they have their own form of Partner, so you can't just slap Eleven, the Mage with Thrasios, Triton Hero.

I like the idea of Oathbreaker. A commander like format, but faster, with 60 card decks and 20 life each, where a planeswalker leads your deck AND you have access to an instant or sorcery in the command zone. The RC for oathbreaker cares about making the best decisions for the format, not banning cards for personal reasons (rip Golos, you will be missed) and although the format is supposed to be fast, most of the notorius fast mana sources are banned, from Sol Ring to Mana Crypt.

Those lovely Jhoira of the Ghitu decks finally get access to Worldfire. Splendid.

Oh....that's a big one. I did not expect either of these changes.

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Korvold - Need some more things to sac ?

You're missing out on the thing that most Korvold players love the most, and that is Treasure tokens. Dockside Extortionist can win games from the sheer card draw the treasures give you, and Adventures in the Forgotten Realms (along with other sets recently) have a lot of treasure support.

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Might of a Feather

You seem to be playing Feather as a pure voltron style deck. Feather is often used with cantrips that can target creatures, and other Boros commanders are better suited to this style of voltron. Which are you going for?

Commander Deck Reviews / Re: Orvar
« le: Septembre 10, 2021, 08:39:29 pm »
This looks like a really solid Orvar deck! If you're looking to brew something weird, there's actually a 5 color version of Orvar that uses General Tazri as the commander, then uses her ability to tutor for Orvar (since he's a changeling.) Lots of options for more interaction with all 5 colors, and some slightly more useful "target permanent spells." But your deck looks pretty good the way it is.

Fogs are sooooo underrated, and one of the best new ones is Obscuring Haze. Most of that cycle is expensive and unliked, but stealing a game or finding a way to stay alive with a fog is always fun - and people in EDH like that kind of stuff.

This deck of mine loves fogs, and should probably use a few more. Kind of inspired to write some sort of primer on fogs, would anyone be interested?

Actually, here's another primer on this site about C/EDH. https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,41224.0.html

These are fairly good suggestions if you have $2000+ to spend. Do not take getting into C/EDH high card prices lightly.

There is a primer for this deck here on Deckstats. Not too expensive, either. What you need is more milling options so you and your opponents have very large graveyards.

You're playing an infect deck, where is my friend Skittles? (Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon)
