Updated to give more speed and consistency. Viscera Seer was helping us dig, and could come through in a pinch, but we were more likely to simply search for Yawgmoth with one of our Tutors anyhow.

Revision 2

Added/removed cards:
-4 Butcher Ghoul
-4 Viscera Seer
+4 Birds of Paradise
+1 Dryad Arbor
+4 Geralf's Messenger

Changed amounts:
-1 Forest

Pyrobeasty Pestimentals

This is my attempt at a new take on Young Pyromancer. By splashing black, we have access to more removal and Thoughtseize as well as Sedgemoor Witch which is a little more durable due to ward. This is a Grixis Control deck for all intents and purposes with an old school win condition.

Naya Prowess

This deck utilizes the white pseudo-prowess creatures from Strixhaven and both Phyrexian mana and one mana spells to quickly sprint to an early victory.

I’m trying to make the deck more consistent by switching the reservoir with classic Grapeshot and altered the sideboard to more effectively protect the combo.

Revision 5

-2 Aetherflux Reservoir
+2 Grapeshot
-4 (SB) Blood Moon
+2 (SB) Chancellor of the Annex
+2 (SB) Leyline of Sanctity

+1 Simian Spirit Guide

Swapped Gemstone Cavern for Lotus Petal. Does everything we want out of Gemstone Cavern without having to be in our opening hand.

Revision 4

Added/removed cards:
-4 Gemstone Caverns
+4 Lotus Petal

The Manabond with Life From the Loam emulate LED, they allow us to have the mana to Dredge early and often. The Ichorids trigger the Bridges when they die, as do the Narcomoebas we sac to Dread Return and Prized Amalgams to Cabal Therapy. Manabond is just trying to give us mana we put into our hands with Loam and put Dredge creatures into the graveyard.

Gruul Storm

Birgi Cheerios Storm with Bridge From Below and Aetherflux Reservoir for multiple payoffs. With multiple sources of card draw, this deck is designed to potentially win turn one. This is a rough draft, plan to test and work on this deck more, input is appreciated.

Dredge Ramp

With the rl spikes, I have to work with my two copies of LED. I found Manabond as an interesting piece of tech, allowing me to drop my lands on the battlefield and discard my dredgers turn one. This is a bit of an old school Dredge strategy using Falme-Kin Zealot with Dread Return to win after dredging through the deck.

Deck Reviews / [Modern] Modern Rec-Sur

Modern Rec-Sur

As an old school player, one of my favorite decks is Rec-Sur. I wanted to see if I could bring that archetype to Modern. Blood for Bones is almost a strictly worse Recurring Nightmare except it also puts a creature from our graveyard to our hand which can fuel our strictly worse Survival of the Fittest Fauna Shaman. As a Rec-Sur deck, we stack a ton of utility creatures into our deck to deal with several different situations. We also have Eladamri’s Call to help our consistency with tutoring for our utility creatures. Eldrazi Displacer flickers our creatures when we don’t have a Blood for Bones. Sideboard is stretched out to deal with most situations with a wide variety of niche utility creatures.
