General Magic / Re: D&D Forgotten Realms Spoilers!

Mnemnosyne, respect. I didn't know you were such a Forgotten Realms D&D lady-buff. I remember Power Word Kill, due to my experiences with Baldur's Gate series and Icewind Dale included, although it's not commonly achieved spell, and I only like to Arteplid in 4-party Half Elven machinery that just does good almost any impossible way, but no Power Word Kill at found or bought scrolls around Kuldahar for my Mage/Thief let alone the counterpartish Bard. I'm amazed back to thing, that you know what is Flumph and to such degree know the lore of this fantastic campaign setting and fantasy world it is.

Calix, Destiny's Hand, in my opinion, would be good for your deck. Although I mashed it out with "Adaptive Enchantment" and also in my opinion Estrid, the Masked works better as an encompassing Commander for an Enchantment deck. So, it's up to you. I'd combine the 2 ideas into 1, as I did, but your also is nice and budget. Krond the Dawn-Clad and Kitsune Mystic // Autumn-Tail, Kitsune Sage also can be considered.

Deck Reviews / Re: [Modern] Please Help!
« le: Juin 15, 2021, 06:36:30 am »
Worse than the previous one: I view this more like a collection of cards, that are Gods, which is not that bad, but the pretence that it's a deck? It's definitely decided: 5-colored decks don't work so well in Modern; shortcut to the best colours for Gods; not more than 2-3 for such a deck. I would cut the Progenitus thing any time, The World Tree also looks bad; 60 cards for sure, its more of a expensive shitty collection of cards, concentrate on fewer colours, a theme and better synergy between the creatures' abilities than just collecting God cards for the sake of them.

General Magic / Re: Set Boosters vs Draft Boosters
« le: Juin 13, 2021, 12:17:54 am »
I don't care much about boosters at all. I nearly only play EDH, so I'm usually way cheaper by buying singles in stead of buying boosters and hope for my luck. Besides that, I'll get way less junk I won't play anyway, because it's made for the 60 formats.
I'm 100% with you, check again with upvote. I don't buy boosters at all. I play at FNMs and I test my Modern Tribal combinations. A friend of mine in Bulgaria, Ivan, buys usually a whole box. It's like a ritual for him, but he has the finances and he even gets to give me some cards that I lack as Needlethorn Drake from Strixhaven. I only expect several cards from most sets that goes like 2-3€ at utmost as Rakdos Headliner, Skophos Reaver and Breya's Apprentice from MH2. From some sets I don't buy anything at all. Especially due to the fact, that I have 3 casual EDHs, that are like precons "Natue of the Beast", "Draconomicon" and "Adaptive Enchantment" and I don't look on EDH Editions very closely. Only the latter is built from the actual deck that was given as a Birthday present 2 years ago. While suffering from covid-19, but not in such a strict quarantine, I was able to built it and mostly built it from out-scraps I have, and what a friend Boris, who goes by nick krgr, here with fantastic decks, has. He gave me several more expensive like Godsire, Mayael the Anima and Mayael's Aria, while ordering the bulk from Card Market EU. So, I only buy cards that goes well with the Tribal mechanics. All my decks are such. I don't just buy boosters. What commons, uncommons and other Mormons possess each booster is meaningless to me. I buy cards that go well with certain creature type and ability they have. Like whirling around Pheres-Band Warchief, Stromkirk Captain Knight Exemplar, Captain of the Watch and several others to make a deck. Goblins and Elves, no question, they're full of lords. Even the Allies can be counted but they are more Equipment type of deck. Which is not bad, but such decks are generally weaker than control decks. Ivan however looks to each set for particular cards probably more that will go good with his vision and that's why he buys a whole box and it's like a ritual for him. However he keeps his decks in MTG Vault hidden and I don't blame him. He uses expensive fetches, Walking Ballista and other very expensive cards. I cannot stand against him in casual play, but during this pandemic, he spends in home with his children and wife while still working full time. I just don't have any experience, "set boosters vs draft boosters", because due to my way of building decks conceived on Tribal theme, I expect only several cards, but have bought a bundle or even received as a present which counts of M13 and M14. From year to year, I only have built decks which have particular creature type, like Vedalken-Elf Artificers and Human-Aetherborn Artificers, which were conceived 3 years ago and are not bad, but Kaladesh is totally designed IMHO for casual play. I guess only my Dinosaurs are conceived from precon, but it was Huatli White-Red and expanded to put Green. It's like 33% per color with Explorers of Ixalan look, but quite effective. I'm considering putting it in FNM these days. No, no boosters from me. I'm only interested in singular cards from each set, but can look forward to buy something big in Lorwyn, Shadowmoor, Morningtide, Eventide and Eldraine like a booster or bundle box from these editions, when I have greater fortunes. When I have money I'll buy set boosters from certain editions, so set boosters win. :P

Uhhh, Tiamat is part of the main set. Notice her collectors number?
Oh, OK. Sure. But I think, she's truly for EDH, mostly. I find it hard to believe she'll feature at FNMs but who knows. Maybe more in Draconic Rage will follow.

Mnemnosyne, I believe Tiamat is part of Commander line product called Draconic Rage part of the regular set. I guess she's the Commander herself. That said there probably might be more Dragons, but she's trully only for Commander. More Dragons for Modern, but maybe more for Commander as well. O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami was fantastic in last Dragon set, so let's keep fingers crossed for more like him. Bahamut perhaps? Combining both editions? Who knows.

Will Bahamut be a card? I'm very loyal to Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate series. I remember there was Draconomicon style of book from d&d 3,5. Looking at Drizzt Do'Urden I guess it's meant to boost Green-White Elves like Rhys the Redeemed. Most Tribal Elves are Green-Black like Tyvar Kell and the tribal land Gilt Leaf Palace. Of course they can be made mono-Green like a dumb Duel Deck, but it is what it is. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of Forgotten Realms, especially the Dragon side. I certainly can afford to buy Bruenor Battlehammer for my Dwarven Vehicles deck. I'll be able probably to find a place for Tiamat (if she's not insanely expensive), but it'll be in expense of Intet, Rith or another Dragon since most of the spots are taken. Let's wait for more spoilers.

It's over guys. All is on Wizards of the Coast. Nothing special for me. Several cheap cards. I wouldn't give money for mechanics and Squirrels. Only Sterling Grove is worth mentioning along with Sanctum Weaver but the latter's too expensive. I'd only look in cheap things like Rakdos Headliner and Breya's Apprentice. I'm looking forward in making a meaningful 31st Tribal deck Slivers in Red-Green-White, but I have to find the cards. I have the budget, but finding the cards in Bulgaria is difficult.

General Magic / Re: Best pack you've ever opened?
« le: Juin 01, 2021, 02:32:37 am »
I don't buy much sealed product and I never opened an incredible pack, but the pack that felt the most awesome for me was opening a Visara the Dreadful when I had just started playing the game, during Onslaught block.
Same as The Golgari Guy: I just don't rely on boosters and never bought sealed products. Probably, the best pick from a booster was back in 10 years ago, when I was just starting in the game. I bought Duel Decks: Knights vs. Dragons and I won an extra booster with an additional Knight Exemplar in my Knights deck and an additional Dragonspeaker Shaman, although I don't play more than 1 in Draconomicon and the aforementioned deck, just it was nice to have it. As a matter of fact, I believe I bought additional Dragonspeaker Shaman, years ago, but I ditched it out or exchanged for something else at LGS in Bulgaria.

Lovely gallery! I sent Friend request! I'll suggest Cordial Vampire and Indulgent Aristocrat. You have fantastic selection. Check out my Counter Vampire. But yeah never old on FNMs. Before the pandemic.

I saw this with Boris, a friend of mine, who's krgr, here on Deck Stats and has memorable decks. I knew, but I didn't know the price. It is pricey. A lot. Ouch. No, no way. Single land? I might buy one for the collection, but it's not that urgent at all. I can say it's for collectors, I guess.

General Magic / Re: Modern Horizons 2 bingo
« le: Avril 30, 2021, 06:23:21 pm »
New Lord for Satyrs? Except Gallia of the Endless Dance we don't have good Satyr Lord, that isn't Legendary. Yes, we have Xenagos, the Reveler, for spawn-token Lordish Planeswalker, but no good true Baronish Lord that isn't Legendary. Centaurs have it in Pheres-Band Warchief that gives good vigilance and trample and I play a set it with a set of Call of the Conclave and 2x Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage as well as Trostani, Selesnya's Voice to make good tokens. I also hope for another lord of the Centaurs. Why not? The Satyrs? Oh, I love playing the Heroic Satyrs as Satyr Hoplite and Setessan Oathsworn with good Ghor-Clan Rampager to give them Trample and +4/+4 and Collision // Colossus and Invigorated Rampage to further boost their Heroic with Trample. Many of that particular Tribe are Enchantment Creatures from Theros like Boon Satyr and Nyxborn Rollicker. The Centaurs however receive further a boost in my opinion with Courser of Kruphix, but don't have a significant Legendary Green-White Centaur to correspond with Ravnica and Theros like Pheres-Band does. Oh, there are Green-Red Nikya of the Old Ways and Stonebrow, Krosan Hero to include in the Satyr deck, but so far: no good Legendary Green-White Centaur, while the Satyrs as Tribe lack good common Lord apart from Gallia.

I also look forward to more "Bantish" Knights that ride Fleecemane Lions like Rafiq of the Many, Ethercaste Knight, Kabira Vindicator and Citadel Castellan. Very noble Tribal deck. Initially it was "Duel Decks: Knights" but grew to include little Blue. I have it at home. Good White-Green with Blue "wristbands" since there aren't other Blues except Rafiq and the Ethercaste that ride particularly Lions for card art and flavor. There aren't more than 7 or 8 White-Blue Knights in Magic altogether that are these colors. There are double: more than 15 White-Green. In Modern we speak. I couldn't include more than 2 by each that is riding Lion. Also why not putting Wolf Riders in Horizons 2? As Armored Wolf Rider, that is particularly a vanilla card, I put 1, since it's for 5 mana 4/6 that has lovely art and flavor. Ledev Champion isn't that memorable and puts only Human tokens. New Lords for Bantish Knights? There are actually no White-Green-Blue Knights except Rafiq of the Many. So, bring some new. Ranger-Captain of Eos, should be noted as good Soldier that's riding Lion, but very expensive and over-priced; one of the few of this particular art and flavor. Oh, and the Bant soldiers can easily be updated. There are good 4 White-Green-Blue soldiers: Bant Sureblade, Bant Sojourners, Giltspire Avenger and Waveskimmer Aven. All with Exalted, that's good for a similar deck like mine, but they're soldiers and I don't want to put them. Bant Soldiers? Can be made, but I made Boros Soldiers. Easier and more memorable. However, Elspeth Tirel can see a White-Red alternative for flavor and White-Red Soldiers with Battalion and triggered abilities like Mentor and Boros Challenger, Boros Elite, Legion Loyalist, Wojek Halberdiers, Akroan Hoplite and Ordruun Veteran.

It'd be nice if they give Spawning Kraken a shot in MH2. I was really elated when I saw it, but still I think that it'd be better if they release it in Horizons 2, since there aren't many other creatures and spells, apart from Quest for Ula's Temple, Serpent of Yawning Depths, Slinn Voda, the Rising Deep and Whelming Wave for this particular Tribe. So, apart from new Slivers: yeah, bring some new Sea Monsters. I love this Tribe and my deck is one of my most beloved from my collection. I don't expect to build anything new as a deck before the end of the year. I'll just complete all my visions according, but still want more new Sea Monsters.
