https://deckstats.net/decks/145418/1496365-monoblack-vampiresHi! I'm working on a casual deck for my wife and am interested in some feedback. I'm pretty happy with it, but I wanted to see what others thought. I've set a ~$40 budget for myself.
The main strat is to get a bunch of little guys out, like
Vampire of the Dire Moon, and
Vampire Cutthroat on the first 2 turns, giving you some great evasion and
lifelink (Dire Moon has deathtouch, and the Cutthroat has skulk). More expensive vampires like the [Vampire Nighthawk] keep this going as you get more land on the field. Deploy your BloodThirsty Aerialists, and watch them get huge from the
lifelink on your other vampires. Get out the
Epicure of blood or
Sanguine Bond to convert all of your lifegain into damage!
Sanctum Seeker turns all your attack attempts into even more lifegain while also inflicting direct lifepoint damage.
Vindictive Vampire turns any loss of a vampire into a gain, as you gain life and hurt your opponent for each of your creatures that
perish.
The big 'bombs' are
Vampire Nocturnus to buff all your vampires +2/+1 and give them flying, and
Blood Tribute which forces your opponent to lose half their life, optionally gaining life if it is kicked (which following the strategy you definitely should).
We've got a number of support spells to ensure the deck goes off: Find the pieces you need with
Diabolic Tutor. Remove troublesome enemy creatures with
Urge to Feed,
Feast of Blood, and to a lesser extent,
Sorin's Thirst.
Feast of Blood and
Sorin's Thirst also cause you to gain life, further triggering your Aerialists to gain power, and
Epicure of blood/
Sanguine Bond to inflict more direct damage.
Soul Salvage,
Return from Extinction both keep important pieces from getting lost in the graveyard, a function also served by all the special lands.
