I choose Grim Flayer as a good way to filter my draws for Confident and BBE for a more midrange version, but I just saw your list this morning, Hell's thunder seems indeed a good idea, I might test it too.

You should consider the B/R Reanimator version. You already use much of their cards (petal lotus, Chancellor, Sire), and the only cards you really need to add are pretty cheap : Dark Ritual, Faithless Looting, Animate dead.
What you lose in deck manipulation (ponder, preordain), you gain in speed and explosivity, with potentially insane T1.

Of course you lose power because of the budget option (no Griselbrand, Unmask, Mox, or fecth/biland) but I think a B/R budget version can still perfom really well
