22 lands runs real well. I find at 2 cmc there are 4 cards at 4 of each that are ideal. Branchwalker, Mistbender, Silvergill Adept and and Deeproot Elite. At least before Dominaria is released. I think you will find that for non creature spells you will only find room for 4-6 to make the Synergy of the Mainboard go. This is just my opinion of course. For creatures I run 7 cards in the 3 slot 2 in the 4 and the rest are two or less
If we are talking new then RW Humans w/Exert I believe can definitely be a thing. I do like UW Spirits still. Cast out helps for sure the cycles add some flave and censor is very good early and drawing late game is great. I think there is going to be a BG SMASH FACE deck. I could see utilizing the B and G gods heart of Kiran . Just some where you get to turn cards sideways and smash tons.
For the mono black Hymn is not modern legal ! I suggest looking at 8-rack decks , they will give you an idea ! Plus the card waste not could be fun ....
