I like the idea, it has some potential and would require some minor tweaks. Thanks for the inspiration :)

I'm sorry to say that but 14 lands is way to few lands to make a consistent deck.
For reference. Check this Deck:
https://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-99-real-affinity-modern
Even "Real Affinity deck" has 15 land cards. It consists mostly of cards that are ZERO mana cost, or cost 1-2 mana after counting in mana discounts from affinity.Basically you pay 0-2 mana for every spell. Even then the deck still has some additional mana support thanks to Springleaf Drum.
You, on the other hand, have 6 cards woth mana cost 3, 10 mana cost 4 and 3 mana cost 5. With only 15 lands and no way to "cheat in" more expensive cards or gain additional mana through nonland cards, there is no way you can play consistently without constant mana screw.
Normally, cheap decks that can let you have less lands in the deck usually have aroun 19, maybe 18 lands top. BUT the cards in the deck cost 1 or 2 mana. Period. They often use ultra cheap cards like dismember, gut shot or mutagenic growth that can be cast with you life rather tnam mana. Or produce mana themselves, like manamorphose or Burning-Tree Emissary.
I would advise to add more lands, more card draw or add REALLY cheap cards or some other ways to gain mana during the game.

Hello friend, havent logged in fo a while xD Family life, too absorbing :D
I added you to friend lists as well. I'm a complete casual but I always try to give some feedback, even if it's not really getting through, maybe it will give some ideas and you will find something even better :) I mean, just have fun, if you don't want to change anything, don't, I'm just bored and throwing some ideas because I liekd the general principle of the deck :D
I will gladly check the other stuff later :)

And remember, even if it's casual, there are usually some interesting options which are both cheap and working. I have a friend who makes great deck for little to nothing and they often beat my more expensive decks so... xD

It's just my personal thing that I hate spells with high mana cost. I'm a control player by heart and my first reaction when I see them is like "Well that's bloody easy to counterspell " xD
Basically what I'm saying is that heavy mana spells are not bad and can totally win the game but you can't have too many of them, otherwise faster opponents will stomp you.

Thanks for sharing your positive attitude man, jope you are doing grrrreat!

« en: Diciembre 09, 2019, 02:00:57 pm »
Hey,

I love Illusion decks, have one in paper myself, but I would advise on finding more cards that do not die when targeted. Lord of the Unral is fine and all but you can't treat him as the one and only key card, because losing him would f**k up your whole strategy- and then your oponent can kill your stuff even with pump spells, killing them. And remember, counterspells do not protect your illusions- even if your enemy uses doomblade and you counter it, the doomblade targeted the illusion so it is destroyed anyway...
It's a tough archetype :/
After testing I ended up with a version like this myself:

Maybe it will give some inspiration or ideas :)

Hey,

I like the deck, but as for the sideboarding against graveyard shennanigans, like dredge, path to exile won't really do the thing xD You path 1 thing and they fill the board with 15 ... I would advise siding in Tormod's crypt- really cheap, budget friendly graveyard hate.

Hey mate,

I'm looking at the deck and have a strange feeling that converted mana cost is too high- modern, even casual, is a pretty fast format, there are plenty of budget cards that could be substituted for your choices and their mana cost would be a lot better- maybe you choce the cards like that due to the cascade effect to limit the possible outcome but I think it's not worth it, you loose too much speed.
For example- Get the Point. 5 mana for destroy the creature effect. That is toooo much. And it doesn't even draw you a card, only scry. You have tons of great, cheap removal (mana and money-wise)- Tragic Slip, Doomblade, go for the throat, dreadbore, cast down, ultimate price, even murder or ravenous chupacabra would be a lot better.
I mean maybe you tested it and it works, I don't want to belittle it if so, but it seems like it can easily lose to agro or control decks. I would focus on cheaper substitutes rather than a bunch of mana-expensive bombs. You need to have a consistent early game. Maybe some discard? Duress?
You have some enchentments, but theyy will be stuck in your hand without creatures to put tchem on. And most of the creatures are really mana expensive. So you have to put down a creature, then wait a turn. But because the creature is a threat, oponent will use this turn to kill it. It feels like it need some improvements.

Good luck with it, ignore me if you wish, like I said, maybe you tested it and it works fine, but those are the things I would think through again, what can I change to make it faster, more consistent.

Hey,
I hate spending money on lands, I find the idea repulsive and can't afford fetches ( doubt I would buy tchem even if I could xD) but I would advise on looking for some cheap ways of untapped lands instead of gates. Cards like Glacial Fortress, Port town, nimbus maze, drowned catacomb, darkslick shores, underground river, caves of koilos or concealed courtyard.
Even if your plan is slow and you are not doing much throughout the game, even 1 mana may be crusial to counter something or cast that supreme verdict a turn earlier than with the tapped lands. Apart from that, I like the deck, I'ma  control player by heart and this is precisely my beloved archetype :D Have a like.

Ignore indestructibility part, I completely ignored Knight exemplar xD
So it's great! I would just think about adding some card draw :)

I love this type of decks, my only two issues with tchem is card draw and mass destro effects.
I had similar mono whiite humans deck.  In this kind of strategy you have to go wide. That means you usually play your whole hand. And then go into top deck mode. I was looking for some kind of draw engine, ending up with a set of Thraben Inspector.
The other thing is that a single wrath of god may be a finishing blow for you.  Dauntless bodyguard helps but it's not as good as, e.g. Selfless spirit. So you either need some better protection or graveyard shennanigans (like Return to the Ranks to get back your creatures and fill your board again).
or Thalias to slow down the opponents spells.
I don't know, maybe it works fine as it is, but I'm always paranoid about this two aspects of the deck and I'm trying to find some back up cards. I like the deck, though, have a like.

Hey,

I like the idea, but I would recommend putting i some ramp spells- Simic is not my colour set, really, so I am not a specialist, but normally Hydra decks need a shit ton of mana. Cards like Weaver of currents are a bit too slow and it hurts when they are destroyed at the end phase :/
Below I'm pasting a link to the deck I found recently and it may give you some idead. Just a recommendation, though :)
Seth (vel Sapphron Olive) from MTG Goldfish played around the idea some time ago, had some cards worth checking. have a look, maybe it will give you some ideas.
