My playgroup plays a lot of board wipe.  Permanents tend not to last very long.  So instead of playing a bunch of defensive magic to keep my stuff around, I decided to play stuff that have some instant value and create card advantage.  I also play a bunch of instant speed card drawing like Jace's Ingenuity in place of permanents which build some sort of draw engine via triggered or activated abilities.  Very often you play a card which allows you to draw in my play group, and you will never get to reap any benefits from it.  I would rather spend 5 mana to draw three cards, then 5 mana to draw no cards and get 0 use.  So Ideally, the deck will put a bunch of non-threatening creatures out like merchant of secrets, elvish visionary and reclamation sage, and dig into a craterhoof for the kill.

I had a similar deck built with Momir Vig Simic Visionary which was a bit too powerful for my playgroup.  So in a sense this is a dumbed down Momir Vig deck..

The deck was also built with cards I own currently...
