I never understood why people put fetch lands in mono color nonlandfall decks. Wouldn't it make more sense to just put a swamp in instead of paying 1 life to shuffle your deck? I think Dark Petition would be a better choice. Then again.... Thats why I always lose.

Fetch lands still thin out the deck, increasing your chances of drawing into gas instead of unwanted lands.
I like Magic. Modern is the best format. Restore Balance is the best deck in Modern.

I also use them to fuel delve spells. in this deck they allow for a gurmag angler on turn 3
