First FNM in new Standard with SOI?

How did everyone's go and what decks did you see?

I ran my RB Vampire Madness. Finished second, lost 2-0 to a Bant Collected Company deck that had 4 copies of Avacyn & 4 of Jace, Vryn's Prodigy, it was a solid deck that may be a thing this go around.

Saw 2 other RB Vampire Madness decks that were similarly built, a WB Vampire deck featuring Sorin, a couple RG Werewolf, another WG Human, a UB Zombie, and a couple mono B control shells that weren't very threatening (I think people were trying to be cute and make a Blues Clue deck and the pieces just aren't there for it to be competitive...or at least they haven't been stumbled upon yet). There were still some Eldrazi, Dash, & Ally decks but it's almost like they were an afterthought. I'm sure we'll see decks with more combinations of the current standard sets, but there weren't really any to speak of outside of Drana & Kalitas being in some of the Vampire decks.

Was it any different at yours?

All of the local FNM was draft/sealed this week. We'll see what the usual Tuesday night Standard tourney has. I'm not sure what I'm taking. Haven't got enough SOI yet to go full on with a new idea.

I expect at least one B/R vampires and A green ramp with Ulvenwald Hydra and the stuff from SOI that helps that.

I'm a bit worried about werewolves with my U/<> eldrazi drones. Might go back to the U/B/<> eldrazi with more removal spells and less counter-magic.

Yea, the one I went to did both. They did sealed throughout the day and then had the other two hours after the last sealed to give people time to trade/sale cards to build the decks they wanted.

We also had a few guys that had pre-ordered cards off SCG and went to their shop to pick them up.

  Due to work reasons I haven't been able to go to the FNM tournaments but I have been to the sealed drafts and pre-release events. I;m bit of an Innistrad Fraud because I was able to snag the cards I need to build at least 10 different decks. All this happening before the day of the release so I think that I'm ahead as far as deck building goes. Once I have all my decks Uploaded I'll give an announcement in case anyone wants to take a look at them. Even if I can't go to compete at least someone else can try something new.

I was able to trade for the pieces I needed for the one deck off the prerelease and sealed I went to, naturally afterwards I bought a box and got most of the pieces I had traded for.

Our FNM store just does modern and draft. I went the normal 2-1 using delirium.
Have 2 standard and sealed PTQ this up and coming weekend

Last FNM for me was a standard 2.  I partnered up with a Gruul Werewolf Tricks player (I was running my Selesnya Human Company), there were other Werewolf players (including a weird landfall/clue/tempo one that actually kinda worked), Mardu Control, Esper Control, Rakdos Vampires, Dimir Zombies, Izzet Tempo, Abzan Allies feat Avacyn, and more. No Company lists other than mine, but the player I most expect to do something like Bant Company wasn't present. No Eldrazi, but I expect they'll resurface after the new set furor has died down.

   If Emakrul is featured in the next set you can expect to see some eldrazi folk.

Gmoto, I don't plan on any deck. I am only doing sealed for now but the 30th at the local shop is game day for standard and by then
I will run something fun and creative.

  Wait so the local game stores you go to have Sealed Draft tournaments multiple times a month? I thought they only did that during pre-release season?

One near me does one a month but it's not always a Standard set. The one this month and next month are SOI, but the one in March was original Innistrad and June is set to be Return to Ravnica.

Needless to say when it's older sets the entry is a little more pricey.

     That's pretty cool, gives you a chance to snag some awesome rares from old sets.

Yup, good fodder for my trade binder at the very least as well as a ton of fun.
