Expanding Deck Search Options
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:44:33 am »
To the programmers of this high quality resource, I suggest the following.

Assuming the individual deck files contain the data points for the average mana cost and dollar cost, adding the ability to further filter results of the Deck Search against those points would increase the search strength.
Perpetual Johnny. Interactions and originality are preferable to winning, though winning doesn't hurt.

Cool suggestion, thanks! I particularly like the idea of searching for the estimated price of the deck (and also displaying that in the deck list), so I have started working on adding this already. Hopefully I will be able to release it soon.

As you might have seen already, you can now search for decks by price range! :)

Kudos mate. Neatly programmed, at least from what I can see on this side.

Separately, I'll raise this nugget: the Tag object that can be associated with a deck might provide a strong search filter as well, assuming the community is consistent on how they tag. While users can jump from deck to deck using Tags, they have to get into a deck first to start the chain. Enabling this as a search filter will give another couple ounces of muscle to your search function.

Again mate, just a thought, with no detraction from the overall work intended.

Thank you for the good suggestion, you can now search for tags too! :)

I also made some other improvements to the tagging system to make them more useful. Tags are automatically recognized in the deck title and added when you save your deck. I am also now automatically normalizing different versions of the same tag to a single tag, like "Tokens -> Token" or "Mono B, Monoblack -> Mono Black".
