Not everybody wants to buy 60 new cards every time they build a new deck. So a common question has been how to
find decks with cards that are already in Your Collection. As a first step towards this, I added a
Collection Overlap column to our deck lists a few months ago, which tells you which of the cards in the deck are also in your collection.
So until now, the best way to find a deck has been to use our
Deck Search to search for decks containing a few specific cards and then use this collection overlap column to check how many additional cards you would need to buy. However, this is of course not very convenient and can take a long time.
So to make this a lot easier, I have been working on a
tool that takes your entire collection, automatically overlaps it with all decks in our database and returns a list of the best matches. This is quite a complicated task, so the tool is unfortunately not ready for public use yet. However,
if you’re interested in helping me test this tool, please post your request here and I will tell you the 5 best-matching decks for your collection!To make a request, please answer these questions:
- Which tournament format are you interested in? (e.g. Standard, Modern, ... - can only be a single format for now)
- Which colors should the deck have?
- What is the maximum price of the deck?
- What is the minimum number of likes the deck should have? I have found it useful to require at least 1 like to make sure I don't get too many experimental decks that are not actually playable.
I will then look through all public decks posted in the last year that match your criteria (and also contain at least 60 cards, to make sure they are tournament legal), compare each of them to your collection and tell you the five decks that match best.
The only thing I ask for in return is that you provide some feedback on whether or not this list was useful to you and what you would like to have changed!
