Maybe use Altar's Reap instead of Merciless Resolve?

Thanks for that one, Daku72; fits in standard and is a colorless mana cheaper.

I'm also considering mortuary mire to replace a few swamps and get the return creature to hand etb effect. However, simulated draws show me already a little low on useful mana in early turns when a creature may not be in graveyard yet.

Might get a chance to playtest it tonight.

Played a version of this against excellent decks, causal builds,  meaning sick shit. $5 cards is a big deal to me, and this was all-star night from the other 5 players. I left out draw to help me learn - in this case,  painful stove-touching lessons work best.  Scry was nice,  draw is better.

One 6x and one 5x. These guys have the cards and the know how. I survive by being pitiful in comparison.  That helped me get it going,  but 2nd place ain't good.

Left out draw for 2nd minor combo.  Would have been great if cards hit.  Learned tonight.  Draw is necessary. Fucking Smallpox.
