Minus one counters

Alright this may seem like a silly question and I think I know the answer, but say you play channeler initiate and have something like festering mummy with blowfly infestation or nest of scarabs out. You choose to put the three minus one counters on festering mummy with power and toughnesss of 1/1, do you get the three minus one counters at the same time thus get three tokens with nest of scarabs or do you only get one counter since that is enough to kill the festering mummy. Same with blowfly infestation, do you get to put three minus one counters on an opponent's creatures. I am thinking that it would only be one, but since it occurs from one card I am confused. Thanks for any help.

Nevermind the blowfly, just read it, I suppose you would only get two: one from festering mummy effect and one from its own effect.

Yep. One -1/-1 counter from Blowfly Infestation and one from Festering Mummy dying.

If you had blowfly, f-mummy, and nest of scarabs out, then played channler initiate and put the counters on your mummy, you get the above -1/-1 counters and you would get five 1/1 insects, but you trade mana ramp potential for better stats on channler intitiate.

But you can do much better 4 card combos with blowfly infestation and nest of scarabs
