Discard/cycling rule question

So i play bloodrage brawler and he requires me to discard a card as it enters the battlefield. Cycling a card at instant speed as it's discarded won't work, will it?

It won't because the discard is a cost.  It happens instantly.  It will, however, still trigger cards like Archfiend of Ifnir and Drake Haven.

It would work and not work. You COULD cycle the card.. but you'd just have to discard whatever card u draw
