Unfortunately, Crypt Ghast requires white mana so it would not be legal to use in a red/black deck :(

The white/black symbol is in the extort reminder, so I believe it does not count?
I check this here http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/commander-edh/576239-mono-black-edh-crypt-ghast, and I assumed it was correct (if it is legal in mono-black, why couldn't it be in red-black ?).

Unfortunately, it's still considered to be in it's "color identity", even if there is an option. It's why if a card like Samut, Voice of Dissent was your commander, you could play green, red and white cards.
