[Standard] Cat Token Madness

Budget Cats

Meow, it's Caturday. Been doing a lot of testing with this one, and it's a juggernaut that snowballs fast.

Added in collective effort to the sideboard, which can be traded with second harvest in the event you need more key creature control. I do feel second harvest is a better card in general, but again -situation may warrant. Added two endless sands lands in order to gain a mana sink and protect the key cats or repop the caracals to make more cats at the end of opponent turn. Traded in a forest and a plains for them. Think we're OK on colored mana, but will test some with the endless sands and see the result. Overall the deck still plays very well. Going to test it in the open tourney tuesday.

It has too many white mana sources

Caracal requires WW, otherwise W/G would match. The only additional source of W over G is sandstone bridge. Can't afford not to have 2 white by the 5th land drop, which is why there is more white then green solo sources. Splendor requires GG but it's not a 5th turn drop.

What would you suggest otherwise?

Dual lands, fetch lands, or lands that produce mana of any color.. I can even see potentially a storage land if you need multiple mana of one color

Assuming you'd replace a plains with a dual or fetch since the others all already have a purpose, here's my breakdown.

Options in list of value

(2 more) Scattered Groves (Will tap 1st turn, can cycle late)
Canopy Vista (Will tap 1st turn, but not later)
Fortified Village (Might tap 1st turn if I dont draw a basic land, first turn value dimishes as basic lands are made fewer)

Bad options
Tranquil Expanse (Just scattered grove without cycling)

The deck has 6 first turn W plays. Not having first turn W isn't ideal.

Aether hub is an option as well for first turn drops, but its less favorable with unlucky draws only making colorless. Adding 2 more $$ lands turns this into a $60 deck from a $50 one, which is worth considering for a budget deck.

You're putting too much emphasis on white mana, even replacing a plains with a swamp.. you're still gonna draw white mana. Trust me, I tried a few hands.. all green cards, all white mana

You could switch white one drops with attune with aether and then switch a couple plains with aether hub

It fetches any basic land, instead of being a land that could be what you don't need, and gives you fuel for aether hub. As well as a one drop that isn't white, so you can be less reliant on that

I think pulling one W for a WG is a better solution then throwing aether hubs and attunes in, and hoping you draw them together. I may try that.

Played my wife's RG aether energy deck. I think we called it at 40 cat tokens on the board.

Why not try a Manalith?  You could semi ramp, and fix your mana at the same time.

Finished right in the middle. Stomped hard by an eldrazi ramp deck that I wasn't prepared for. Didn't have enough weenies out fast enough, deck felt understrength waiting for the key combo cards, so swapped out some weenies to add a couple gideons and sunmares. Added more colored mana lands.
