I have this tendency to play highly interactive and flexible decks. Right now I am just playing with Pirates to
explore the possibilities.
There are three main ways you can play Pirate tribal in Ixalan; R/B aggro style, R/B/U midrange, and U/B Control.
I went from playing with a 3 color pirate concept, using
Admiral Beckett Brass when Ixalan came out, to trying to tune to one of the 3 core builds but I wanted to keep an aggro stance, which is why it is a fairly low cost spell list.
I certainly don't think I am there yet, but I have not tested the latest changes.
So far the deck seems to play out ok, but it struggles to finish off the opponent. I have added in 3 more tribal boosters, and another sweeper in the sideboard to try out.
I am not convinced that I will be pushing this deck much further anyway before I try both of the other two build types.
I have seen a lot of interesting decks that twist on that. I have seen a U/B Control that had all flyers recently, which inspired my latest changes.
