Convert Magic Album inventory ready to import into deckstats

Hi everybody,

I use magic album from slightlymagic.net to organize my collection. It contains more than 20k cards. The deckbuilding and analyse tool here in deckstats is much more comfortable. So it would be nice to see and use my whole collection on deckstats.net. Now I have some serious issues with the import program. Does anybody knows a tool to convert my magic album inventory into an uploadable file format?

I'd be happy to take a look. What kind of output/export formats does this software support? Can you get a CSV file with all the cards in your collection? Could you send me part of your collection as an example, or post it here?

Thank you for sharing the list! In general my suggestion would be to edit the CSV file in Excel to match our column names, save that as a new CSV file and then upload it to deckstats. You can have a look at the columns we use here: https://deckstats.net/collection/import/

However, it looks like the format they are using is unfortunately a bit different from ours, which will make things a bit more complicated. I assume Qty (R) is the "regular" amount and Qty (F) is the amount in foil? So if you have 1 "somecard" in foil and 4 normal copies of "somecard" it would say something like this:

On deckstats you would list these as two separate rows, with an additional column that contains a 'Y' if the card is foil and is empty otherwise. So you would have:

So if you just rename "Qty (R)" to "Amount"  then it will import all the regular cards, but miss all the foil cards. But maybe you could import the CSV in two steps, first with Qty (R) as the Amount and then again with Qty (F) as the Amount and a new column is_foil that says "Y" for every card. That should work.

One more thing to mention is that I am currently working on adding card conditions (Mint, Played, etc) and languages to the database, so if you have those recorded at the moment you might want to wait until they are also supported before you do the import.

I guess I have to convert the whole list by hand. Another point is the difference in set names. Maybe I find a way to write a makro in Excel to convert the whole list. I never worked with makros so it could be a nice way to learn more.
