[Legacy and/or Modern] loxodon themed endurance

i'm basing this deck on loxodons and rhoxs with some other stout animals thrown in because i want the elephant theme surrounded by slow moving minor to moderate punching creatures. In turn they will be grind down the enemy and building my life total. They don't stay dead for long if at all, providing reach, hexproof, lifelink and indestructible. Any polite advice on this deck is appreciated, as i'm becoming more and more convinced this theme is only tenable in a small deck. i currently run 80 cards with a 5 in 10 successful mana start ratio (i pull enough mana to begin casting creatures immediately). i prefer running 80 card decks but i'm not averse to 60 cards. please break it all down and build it back how you would think it's most effective at sticking to the theme.

Definitely Legacy.

Gaea's Cradle, Kor Haven, Arcane Lighthouse, Karakas, Yavimaya Hollow, the Medallions, Frog Tongue, Brindle Shoat, and Reincarnation are all illegal in modern.

I'm not sure what Frog tongue or Lifelink are for. Very low impact cards. I'd recommend Elephant Guide or Elephant Umbra for on theme auras.

I think Spelltithe Enforcer and/or Stonehorn Dignitary could be good inclusions

People used to play Dauntless Escort as a mean to fight Wrath of God and other similar effects.
You desperately need some removal like Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile.
Another good card that also acts as a removal is Qasali Pridemage.
You should play with a 60-card deck and roughly 20 lands (maybe slightly more).
