for the voltron aspect, what about Blackblade Reforged? 1 less to play compared to Strata Scythe, ony scales with the amount of your lands, but you dont have to exile 1 of your lands in play.

Too bad it’s mono-black, there are few good ways to make Kokusho go infinite but they involve other colors.

A good value engine is about as good as it gets, as flicker-ing isn’t a common thing in black either.

Sheoldred, Whispering One is a good card, but for both it's CMC and price point I don't like it has to stick around a whole turn to get it's recursion off.
