I think you have forgotten an important card: Sundial of the Infinite. Use it at your endstep once the "exile tokens" trigger is on the stack to keep the tokens generated with your commander until they die.

Btw, be careful with Sword of Fire and Ice. Since it gives yor commander protection from red, it would also remove all red auras attached to him.
