Moderator Training Grounds
« on: June 16, 2019, 02:16:32 pm »

This user is a throw-away account created by Morganator 2.0 for the express purpose of teaching Morganator 2.0 and WWolfe of their new powers as moderators. This includes things like editing, deleting, or moving posts. With great power comes great opportunity to mess things up, so it's best to test out these abilities on this thread before they are actually needed.

Other users are allowed to post to this topic, but any post you make can and will be edited, vandalized, and/or destroyed. This introductory post is not to be edited, but every one that comes after will be.

With that out of the way, here is the first post. Moderators, feel free to abuse this post as much as you want.

Okay, so editing a post looks just like when I edit my own posts. I will resist the urge to constantly correct people's grammar.

It also says when I edited it. So that's neat.

seems like a pretty user friendly system

What I'm really curious about is if we are able to edit each-other's posts. If we can, let's just make a pact to only do it here and not in other topics.

Agreed!

Did you notice that there is a button that says "Split Topic"? I'm gonna try it out.

Deleted a post out of the thread to see what if any options there were while doing so, it's basically remove or don't remove.

Okay, so merging topics is a little bit trickier.

You have to know the ID of the target topic. The ID is found in the URL. For example, in this thread:

https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,46929.0.html

Note that it includes the first decimal but not the second. It also inserts the thread relative to it's timestamp, instead of just adding it to the end of the thread.
