I saw someone use
Muldrotha, the Gravetide
as the commander for
Persistent Petitioners
. This way they could mill themselves to get good cards, and also had access to
Bloodbond March
.
I definitely think milling yourself is the way to go. It's really hard to mill out 3 opponents, so don't bother. Find some way to take advantage of your own graveyard... until the
Seedborn Muse
comes out. Then you can mill them.

Looking at DJ's build, I don't know that 20
Persistent Petitioners
is enough, I was thinking more in the 25-28 range.
Thrumming Stone
seems like a no-brainer inclusion, as does
Bloodbond March
if you include green and black (it's an absolute house in my
Shadowborn Apostle
deck).
Faces of the Past
could be a decent inclusion.
Dramatic Reversal
on a stick seems like a pretty solid inclusion,
Remembrance
could be decent if you're in white.
Rings of Brighthearth
?
Duskmantle Guildmage
or
Bloodchief Ascension
seem like they could be a good alternate win-con if you're facing one of the GY shuffling Eldrazi.
Quest for Renewal
or
Seedborn Muse
seem like they could be promising as well.
Mesmeric Orb
would also have some synergy with those two.

Murkfiend Liege
would also work as backup for the Muse.
Then maybe something like
Rest in Peace
to make sure that you don't support other decks that want to get their gy filled.
