The other important thing (that I forgot to mention) is that the same thing is true in reverse. There are some cards that are really good in competitive commander, but are not so good in casual.

Take for example, Ruric Thar, the Unbowed. If this guy is your commander, he stops storm decks, makes stax decks think twice about certain stax pieces, he kills most infinite loops, and makes other combo decks think hard about whether they can survive their combo turn or not. You also have to remember that non-creature spells tend to be more powerful than creature spells, which causes damn near every other deck to think hard about what they are casting.

But in casual commander, where creatures are more common, Ruric Thar is a mild irritance. Different cards work well in different metas, but some cards (like my nemesis Bojuka Bog) just have better versions out there, regardless of meta.

I will say that as far as staples go, a lot of times the price matches the power. Gaea's Cradle for instance is very worth the price if you can get your hands on one. Also, I'm now preferring mana dorks over most mana ramp and land based ramp. This is the opposite of "traditional" casual meta line of thought on ramp but it's been very effective for me.

what i have to do??? one of my staples is sword of feast and famine...prevent winter orb, if you equip the general probably can kill the opponent in 3-4 turn and also when deal damage the opponent discard a card, so it's crazy against control deck

I mean if it's a staple for you that's fine idc but you said Winter Orb is common in competitive and it's not  ::) neither is sword of FaF

Obviously I'm speaking for multiplayer, I have no experience with French or MTGO EDH and I have no wish to

I've found Winter Orb to be pretty common in cEDH. What's important is knowing when to play it. You need to cast it at an opportune moment that will slow down all your opponents. And you also need to make sure you have a good number of non-land mana.

Alright, here's a question (sorta)...maybe I overrate the card but I don't recall seeing anyone mention Bloom Tender?
