Implementations of Seven Dwarves?
« on: October 13, 2019, 12:16:20 am »
What's your favourite implementation of Seven Dwarves? Any format.

Since this isn't really getting as much traction as I hoped I'll share my own fresh brew and hope that other people share their decks and/or decks they've seen:

I immediately thought of a Depala, Pilot Exemplar tiny leaders deck.

My friend and I used to play tons of tiny leaders and he had a Depala deck that could have used better dwarves, seeing as there aren't tons of great ones CMC3 or less.

I haven't seen much about them but I think they're fun. Cool to have that effect in red.

My first thoughts were Dwarven Recruiter and something like Vanquishers' Banner so you can just chain one after the other. Could make for an explosive turn with all of reds haste enablers and explosive mana options.

Spy kit is kind of fun with them just for extra buffs seeing as we only get 7 unlike all the rats that do the same kind of thing.

Depala seems like the best place for them. Dwarves aren't a particularly well represented tribe in Magic (though there are certainly some good ones) so she seems like the perfect home for them.

As Marshstepper78 says, Tiny Leaders Depala seems perfect as Boros is a difficult colour combination in EDH so the smaller deck size and life total seems like a great fit.

I can't see them breaking any eternal 60 card constructed formats and I'm not familiar enough with standard to know if they have enough support.

I like you're Riku idea too MustaKotka. Creating copies and tokens seems like a great way to have fun with them too. Could be some Feldon / Brudiclad hijinx there too with Infinite reflection and making an army of them. Maybe Kykar at the helm so we can mirrorweave too. Make a butt load of tokens, turn them all into Seven Dwarves. That sounds like fun jank to me.

Now you gave me lots of things to do. TL Depala has been on my list seeing that I play a Depala EDH which converts to TL by removing 20 lands and all CMC > 3 cards.

I wonder if one could do Oathbreaker with this... I tried something like Chandra, Torch of Defiance + Crash Through or Cleaver Riot but I don't think that's going to cut it.

Just run 7 Seven Dwarves and 92 lands. Then your commander can be any red commander.

Boom. Seven Dwarves deck
