The -2 helps with going wide and a permanent anthem, and the +1 can be used on a Butcher or Rabblemaster for the First Strike and Vigilance. Going on curve, I could get a 5/3 First Strike Vigilance Lifelinking Rabblemaster. Also at W over new Sorin's BW, it's slightly easier on the manabase.

Ideally, Elspeth turns up as a 2-of to complete the tokening, but she blows up Butcher. I'd test it out before plumping to buy here.
