I can see bringing in Cryptic Caves, the saga is too slow for a one-time effect. Also, Ashiok keeps people from cracking Fabled Passage.

First, How did you lose? Was it a race or did you run out of gas. I can see this needing card draw.  This was made before ELD and THB, so there may be some answers in there.

Next, I would aggressively mulligan. An ideal hand might have 3 lands, duress, vicious rumors, drill bit, and rat/fenlurker or Davriel.

T1 duress
T2 either rat/fenlurker OR rumors into drill bit ( this depends on if they put a threat in play)
