Help me build a cool un-commander deck?

Hello, my friends and I decided that we want to play an un-commander game tonight and I am wanting to build an unstable deck with the contraptions. I am still new to Magic so I am in need of some help. Would anyone care to assist me?

A lot of the cards that reference contraptions are in blue and red, so you'll want at least those colors. Contraptions are also artifacts so you'll want something to go with that.

Tawnos, Urza's apprentice might work good. Cranking a contraption is a triggered ability, so copying a really good ability could win you the game.

If you want to add more colors, you could try something with Akiri, Line-Slinger + Silas Renn, Seeker Adept, but that's probably not a good idea if you're new.

Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient could work as well, but I prefer the addition of blue for more flexibility.
