I haven't had personal experience with spellbooks. Are you guaranteed to get a copy of each card listed? If so, Chandra, Torch of Defiance & Past in Flames is nice value.

I mean Chandra is $16 right now, and Past in Flames is $6. Both see play in multiple formats.

Looking at the previous spellbooks, Jace only has Mystical Tutor ($10) as an expensive card, and Gideon has Rest in Peace ($5.50) & Path to Exile ($5).

Comparing the prices, Chandra's spellbook (even without seeing the other 6 cards) is already loaded with a lot more value.

I haven't been back playing Magic to know for sure the format on those Spellbooks, but Gideon's had one of each of the 8 cards plus a random one in foil. Since a foil Chandra, Torch of Defiance is worth upwards of 35$, there's some good potential value in that set. As said already, a lot more so than in previous ones...
