I don't think that a mono-green commander deck can use Abattoir Ghoul and Abbey Griffin.

As for the primer layout, I like it. Will BBCode work in these descriptions or will it just be Markdown? And will I have to make a thread showing users how to use Markdown like I did with BBCode?

It will be markdown only, mixing it with BBCode would get very messy. I have already written up a quick description of Markdown that I'll publish once this goes live. But if you would like to write a more extensive description (maybe even with a template for people to use) that would be great!
