Referring to Drannith Magistrate

Am I crazy to think that deserves a ban in EDH? Stuff like Stasis, Winter Orb at least require you to build your deck to break parity, but this card says opponents only, comes down earlier than 90% of commanders, and is guaranteed useful. Anybody else agree?

I think this new thing being a creature will make it a bit easier to deal with.  A large portion of decks need to dig in order to get artifact/enchantment removal.  Most decks come by creature removal fairly easily.  Being one-sided, but on a creature is typically easier to deal with than a symmetric effect on an enchantment or artifact.

"Obosh, the Burrower"
3[B/R][B/R]
Legendary Creature - Helion Horror
Companion - Each nonland card in your starting deck must have an odd converted mana cost.

Whenever a source you control with an odd converted mana cost deals any damage, double that damage instead.

Mythos of Brokkos
2GG
Sorcery
If UB was used to cast this spell, search your library for a card and put it into your graveyard, then shuffle your library.

Return up to two permanent cards from your graveyard to your hand.

Aaaalright let me stop you right there. Sprite Dragon and Rielle - I'm getting a theme here. My loot/rummage/cantrips deck seems to have found some much needed fuel! Wheels and loots it is now. Wow, I just finished brewing - the timing couldn't be better.

I have to say that I'm also feeling that this set feels like a giant mash-up challenge but there are a few cards that are of interest and a couple so far that at least are hard flavor wins like Shark Typhoon.  However, not sure how many of these will make their ways into my existing decks and so far I haven't seen anything that has me itching to build a new deck.  Spoiler season is just ramping up though so keeping fingers crossed there's more that will pique my interest.

I've seen many people say this.  I tend to agree.  However, this set also reminds me of Invasion and Onslaught.

Invasion was the first multi-color matters set.  It was the first set since Legends to contain a large quantity of multi-colored cards.  We had creatures that were a hodge podge of creature types.  We saw, for the first time, things like a Merfolk Zombie and an Elf Barbarian.  There really was no mechanical reason for it.  It was just to justify the multi-colored-ness of the creature.  It was new and enjoyable, even if it had no impact on game play.

Onlsaught was a creatures matter block.  And a tribal block.  Many effects were put onto creatures to increase the creature count.  In fact, the Legions expansion (second set of Onslaught block) was 100% creatures.

Ikoria reminds me of these sets.  Creature types are big and splashy - like Cat dinosaur - to get your attention.  They're fun.  There is a large "creatures matter" component.  Mutate is a creature mechanic.  Keyword counters are a creature mechanic.  If there is one overarching theme to the Ikoria set, I would say that it is - Voltron!

Also an Arcane Signet reprint in C20.

About time!!!!

Not that a 1 year wait is typically all that long.  But Arcane Signet debuted in the Throne of Eldraine brawl decks.  We also finished the Talisman cycle in Modern Horizons.  C19 gave us NONE of those.  Very poor mana base.

I hope some of the Talisman and Signets show up too.

Nesting Grounds, Karn's Bastion & Magosi, the Waterveil = infinite turns
Sounds like a lot but they're all lands and thus difficult to interact with. There's a combo somewhere there.
