Better "override" documentation
« on: April 24, 2020, 02:54:46 pm »
The card override feature has very limited documentation. I'm wondering if either of you, Nils or Morganator 2.0, could add a more detailed documentation on how to use the feature. I was able to change the price and casting cost but for example I wasn't able to edit the displayed CMC (effective CMC) only, without touching the card's casting cost. What other features does the override button support?

Yes, I agree that the override feature needs some documentation. Having a place for that was actually my initial reason for creating the new Guides and Documentation forum. :)

I haven't gotten around to writing the actual post for it yet, but will try to do that very soon.

Thank you Nils! No rush, I can do without it, too.

Here is a first version of this: https://deckstats.net/forum/index.php/topic,54267.0.html

Unfortunately we don't support changing the effective cost right now without also changing the normal cost, but this is something I can try to add in the not too distant future.

Quote from: today's update
You can now override the effective cost for a card with effective_cost=X
This didn't seem to work, it just reverted the cost to the normal value and upon re-entering the editor the override changes were discarded.

Sorry about that, looks like I didn't add it properly. Please try again now.
