It’s hard to chose just one, but I’m tempted to say Answered Prayers.

I have a definite preference for Seb Mckinnon’s art, with Rebecca Guay and Nils Hamm close favorites too. I’m slowly building up a collection of Seb foils (except for the rare cards that have never been released in foil, like the upcoming Misty Rainforest or the Ugin’s Fate alternate Grim Haruspex... Hopefully one day I’ll manage to get the lot signed (planned on doing so in March at a local con he was attending, but My girlfriend unfortunately was sick so I took care of her instead of attending)

I don't know if I have one favourite artist or piece of Magic art per se, but I love a lot of the older artists like D. Alexander Gregory, Mark Zug and RK Post. I like artists that have their ''style'', which I feel is lacking in today's approach to card art.

Richard Kane Ferguson is another great example of an artist with his own style; a lot of the cards he did in Mirage were gorgeous (e.g. Searing Spear Askari). I love that element of chaos in his work.

I'm sorry Seb Mckinnon, but I just have to say that my favorite artist is Izzy. I mean, just look at those beautiful artworks! The colors she does are so vibrant, and the scale, texture, form, and even focus blurring on all her artworks are absolutely superb. My favorite is Simic Ascendancy, but my second has to be Honor's Reward. I have included links to both these in HD:

Simic Ascendancy:

Honor's Reward:

However, if we want to talk Seb Mckinnon, who is undoubtedly my second favourite artist, my favourite art from him has to be infinity elemental:

I don't have anyone else to nerd out over Magic card art with.

Discovering this thread makes me happy :)

Firstly, bless your hearts for putting me on to Seb McKinnon.

Here is my top 5:
Tithe
Peacekeeper
Golgothian Sylex
Stone Calendar
Surgical Extraction

Honorable mention: Juzám Djinn

In the 6th grade my entire school caught Pokemon fever. When contrasted with Squirtle, I thought the artwork of Juzám Djinn was so bad-ass!!!

Funniest card: Hall of Gemstone (reminds me of the Kazoo Kid meme  ;D)

Seb seriously needs to chill, though! Why is he so damn good lol

Out of 134 cards, I only dislike 4 of them: Assassin's Trophy (hate it), Nighthowler, Millennial Gargoyle, and Misty Rainforest.

130 out of 134 were absolutely brilliant in my eyes!

I'm not an art guru, but I've decided that Seb McKinnon is God's gift to us. Every piece I see of his makes me go pog, so yeah.

Like, look at this: https://scryfall.com/search?q=a%3A%E2%80%9CSeb+McKinnon%E2%80%9D&order=released&unique=art

Bro, every single card is mind-boggling.

For me its a tight race between Dawn of Hope and Gift of Orzhova.
I wanted a playmat of Gift of Orzhova for the longest time until Dawn of Hope was released.

And of course Magali Villenueve is great on almost every piece she does.

Probably Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, Secret Lair Edition, by Johannes Voss. Note the little UwU-Emrakul in the top left corner. Also, the sheer emotion the artwork conveys is powerful.

I really dig Seasoned Pyromancer, too. Young Pyromancer all grown up!
