played this deck at FNM where I usualy get destroyed by very fast decks, especially affinity decks.
this deck killed it, I didnt win every game but realy surprised some veterans as the contagion clasp shuts down the etched champion with the Kulrath knight on the field and adding counters on tough creatures stops them dead. affinity relies on counters to win. it needs a good sideboard as they adapt quickly to it. i added vampires kiss and mutagenic growth, pithing needle, dismember, the rack and extirpate to get removal and shut down some combos. The rack is fun when going up against affinity decks.

I tried to modify it and it did not perform as well, i brought it back to its original form and it did great.

I am very sorry guys but this is not a $20 deck. The price of four Kulrath Knights alone is 19.68. Obviously this deck costs much above $20. I did some calculations and the total cost of this deck as of this posting is $69.56 with lands and $53.56 without lands.

actually, this deck cost me 17.89$ CDN which is like 13$ US at face to Face games

It looks like on TCG Player you can get 4 Kultath Knight for around $8...card priced keep changing.  I subbed out Septic Rats, Blowfly Infestation, and Kulrath Knight (took too long to get the mana out) for Caress of Pherexia, Necroskitter (great combo with Midnight Banshee to steal all of your opponents creatures) and Whispering SpecterContagion Clasp is a must for this deck.  It always seems to win me the match.

Melira, Sylvok Outcast beats this deck single handed.

Just saying.

It's really cheap, but won't this deck be too slow? There are too many heavy spells/creatures, giving your opponent too much time to defense

I was thinking the same thing. This deck is too slow for a lot of decks in modern.

This is too slow. The whole point of poison counters is that you only need ten of them vs taking away twenty life. This could do a good job slowing someone down, but I don't see it having a lot of finishing power.

I think that if you added some cards that give your creatures first strike it would move quicker. You can give the opponent poison counters without having to attack him.
