Gotta be honest, I know it’s less than 50 cards spoiled so far but I’m not really feeling much from the previews so far.

There are a couple of things that have my attention. I'm expecting at least one good card with the Cleave mechanic.

Overcharged Amalgam and Archghoul of Thraben are really nice new Zombie cards I'm looking forward to.
So far the most interesting Cleave card is one you wouldn't even necessarily want to Cleave, Path of Peril.
Torens, Fist of the Angels is going to go straight into my Katilda deck. Green/White Humans for every creature I cast is going to get really dumb really fast.

The cleave mechanic looks nuts and Olivia is going to work well with her older self (cards).

Overcharged Amalgam is interesting but I don't know how regularly I want to pass turn with 4 mana open. It depends entirely on the deck. In my Varina deck,  I seldom want to leave 4 mana open for a counter spell. Now if my Sidisi, Brood Tyrant were still zombie tribal it would wreck face in it as that decks counter magic is on creatures (Frilled Mystic and Mystic Snake). However, if you're playing Rooftop Storm the card is probably a sure thing regardless.

Archghoul of Thraben is the card I'm most excited for so far. It definitely is heading into my Varina deck, and may even find its way into my Sidisi deck even though it isn't full on zombie tribal anymore (the way it churns out tokens them dying happens often, even if the top card has little chance of being a zombie it can still go to the graveyard and trigger Sidisi if it's a creature).

Geralf, Visionary Stitcher is interesting. The flying buff is at a better rate than Hordewing Skaab which is attractive though the second ability is vastly different and not one I really see using much in any of my current decks. I can see a case for putting either (or both) in a deck. To some it will likely come down to whether or not they want to keep their zombie tribal "pureblooded" zombie. For me, it'll come down to preferring the 2U casting cost over the 4U for the main reason I'm playing one (the flying buff).

I am excited to see Exploit returning and am happy to see that they are finishing the land cycle.

Rooftop Storm, Undead Warchief, Cryptic Gateway, Cleaver Skaab. Plenty of ways to keep the cost down a bit.

My first thought for the new Geralf was to stuff him in a theft deck, not a zombie deck. Though you do bring up a good point about the cheaper flying ability.

True but at the moment I only run Undead Warchief out of those.

He does fit into a theft deck but the main thing that would interest me is the cheaper flying ability. I use to run Wonder but switched up for Hordewing but naturally I've yet to draw it to see how it plays. It being 2 mana less is huge in a deck that tries to keep the CMC down.

I suppose the extra color with Varina does mean stiffer competition for slots.

I've managed to draw the Hordewing once outside of test plays. I have it in more for the draw than the flying, and it just ended up being a win more in that game anyway. However I think I'd probably put him in in place of Lord of the Accursed or Death-Priest of Myrkul, since they're the lords that pull the least weight in the deck it feels like, rather than keep myself limited to one card granting flying.
I do have Havengul Lich and Draugr Necromancer to swipe things from other players for Geralf to make use of.

That's part of it. Another part was taking out some of the traditional tribal cards (such as Cryptic Gateway which you mentioned) to put in draw doublers like Teferi's Ageless Insight to really help with maintaining card advantage.

Lord of the Accursed I've found useful on a couple of occasions, usually against one specific friend who has an elf deck that churns out elves the way I churn out zombies. Death-Priest I tried and it just didn't really seem to pull its weight. Havengul Lich and Draugr Necromancer were really good in my Sidisi deck when it was zombie tribal. Those two with Ghoulcaller Gisa were a nice little package.

Undead Butler
1B
Creature - Zombie
When Undead Butler enters the battlefield, mill three cards.

When Undead Butler dies, you may exile it. If you do, return target creature from your graveyard to your hand.
1/2

This could be interesting in the right build. This with Cleaver Skaab could be neat.

Zombies are getting all kinds of love. Necroduality should go well in place of Reflections of Littjara for decks making use of that.
I couldn't find a good way to fit Reflections in, so I'm not sure if or how I'd get Necroduality to fit in my Wilhelt deck either.

Hmm, two Gray Merchants huh?

I really like Necroduality but I'm not sure what I'd switch it out for in Varina. The deck list is pretty tight with minimal room for change. Geralf is going in for Hordewing and Archghoul of Thraben is going in for Species Specialist for playtesting. Not sure I see a spot for Necroduality even though I really like it.

ETA- I like Overcharged Amalgam the more I look it at but the 4+ slots are just so tight I don't know what to cut for it and I really don't want to cut a lower CMC counter for it.

ETA 2- What do we think of this?

Are you already using Panharmonicon? Because if not, there is minimal improvement from Necroduality.

No I don’t run Panharmonican but Necroduality is flavorful enough that I may replace Endless Ranks of the Dead with it.

Graf Reaver looks pretty good If you’re in a planeswalker heavy meta.

Toxrill looks like a fun lower tier commander. I don't see it ending up too powerful at that cost. Sludge Monster is something that you need to have with it for sure.

I still don't see myself making use of Necroduality. I just can't find a way to fit it into Wilhelt, even with some time to think on it. The $20-30 preorder price isn't convincing me either. If I luck into it in a pack, maybe I'll try it but I can do without.
