First off, [[Tiana, Ship's Caretaker]] is not a voltron commander. There are better commanders in better colors for voltron. Sure, her recursion ability is nice for voltron, but it only affects things that leave the battlefield while she remains on the battlefield. This is important, particularly with auras; if you kill Tiana with a bunch of auras attached to her, those auras leave the battlefield after she does, meaning you won't get them back. Additionally, equipments are sticky, so they don't often leave the battlefield to begin with.
So, what good is she then?
Well, in my opinion, she is the best political commanders out of Dominaria. Why? well, auras are undervalued in commander, specifically one breed of aura genre, the [[Pacifism]] effect. Cards like pacifism and similar enchantments offer near-permanent removal of Commanders in edh. They "remove them from the game" without sending them back to the command zone where they can be recast. This effect is really powerful in edh, and (at least in my playgroup) underutilized. Tiana brings additional value to this by letting you recast these time and time again, locking down the biggest threats on the board
Tiana can giveth too. Simple boosting auras can be used on your creatures, or your opponents as a political incentive. Best of all, because of Tiana, you get to re-use them again and again. These can provide a simple win-con, or political leverage to incentivize attacking elsewhere.
One other class of Aura that is perfect for a political commander are curses. Again, we can cast and recast these as we scapegoat our opponents. Some of the newer ones even provide us a bonus when other players attack into them.
The decklist above is one I've been messing around. Its cheap, but fun. Definitely room for improvement, but it provides a simple starting guide to how to be the Boros Politician we've always dreamed of becoming.
