To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Prison style deck made to deal with a creature based meta. Hard to win when your creatures can't stay on the board.
Bounces.
Cyclonic Rift, Engulf the Shore, Aetherize, Aetherspouts, Echoing Truth, Hurkyl's Recall, Devastation Tide to keep the board clear of threats.
Scourge of the Fleets + a Flicker effect is a consistent way to keep the board clear of threats and blockers.
Arcane Artisan is something I'm toying with as a way to remove threats by giving my opponents a chance to make tokens with her then bouncing her or flickering her to remove the tokens. Also possible to try and make tokens of some of the bigger creatures but not a reliable way to stick them too the board.
Venser is a repeatable bounce effect from the command zone that can also delay non-creature spells from hitting the board.
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is also used as a finisher and as mass removal.
Spot Removal.
The deck being mono blue limits access to spot removal.
Duplicant and Phyrexian Ingester combine with flicker effects to be repeatable exile effects.
Reality Shift is one of the best blue spot removal spells as its exiles a target creature, the downside being the manifest the top card of their library possibly netting your opponent another creature.
Oblivion Stone is a good way to clear the board of everything but our permenants.
Wincons.
The deck wins by combat damage with one of our bigger creatures.
It can also win by creating infinite mana with Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine drake or Archaeomancer + Peregrine Drake + Displace/Ghostly Flicker. Then hopefully the you land Labooratory Maniac and then Stroke of Genius/Blue Sun's Zenith for the win. This can also be used to finish an opponent off by making them draw their library.
With the high number of instants and sorceries Talrand, Sky Summoner and Docent of Perfection are also able to win the game by swarming the board.
Utility.
Isochron Scepter is used to abuse some of our smaller instants spells netting more counter spells or removal.
Proteus Staff allows the deck to cheat out threats using tokens from Talrand, Sky Summoner or Docent of Perfection. Venser is also a viable target as we just move him back to the command zone.
Teferi's Puzzle Box allows the deck to dig for threats and key pieces while also disrupting the opponents flow by changing their hand every turn. Along with the bounce effects allows to keep key threats off the board for longer.
Leyline of Anticipation while not necessarily needed does help get through Teferi's Puzzle Box by allowing the sorcery speed spells to be played on unkeep when lands untap.
Glaring Spotlight and Arcane Lighthouse allow the deck to target anything that doesn't have protection allowing the deck to remove anything it its path.
Conjurer's Closet allows the deck to abuse some of the ETB effects of our creatures every turn just for being on the board.
Day's Undoing and Elixir of Immortality are used to reset our deck to continue.
Card draw and Tutors.
The deck runs a basic card draw package of 6 cantrips, Rhystic Study, Sensei's Divining Top, Blue Sun's Zenith, Stroke of Genius.
The deck also runs Mystic Tutor to go and get whatever answer is needed at the time.
Whir of Invention is used to grab any of the artifacts to further the decks gameplan.
