This deck is based around two different strategies:
1) Defenders and Arcades, the Strategist - build up your board with defenders until you drop Arcades and can attack with them. If you can get one or two Wall of Denial out the game will be over very shortly. Arcades can be protected by Vines of Vastwood and counter magic.
2) Ludevic's Test Subject: If you can't draw or play Arcades, Ludevic's Test Subject is a good alternative. Putting five counters on him will transform him into a 13/13 with trample and will quickly win the game. Because of the crazy amount of mana ramp this deck has (particularly with Axebane Guardian), doing this will not be overly difficult, and can sometimes be done the second turn after his is played. Like Arcades, Vines of Vastwood and counter magic can try and protect him.
