Wilhelt, Undead Combo Master

Wilhelt seems like a fun Zombie tribal deck, this was basically how I got interested in him as a Commander. I soon realised that he has a lot of combo potential, being himself a combo piece generating tons of zombies and letting me sac them for an extra card each turn. I then decided to turn him into a Zombie combo deck using the ability of Gravecrawler to cast him and sacrificing him over and over again to generate an unlimited amount of Zombies with decayed.

The deck aims to combo as fast as possible by using some of the most powerful draws and tutor that dimir has to offer. Cards like ad Nauseam, Lim Dul's Vault, Necropotence, Demonic Tutor, just to name a few, lets you consistently find combo pieces that you need. Cards like Entomb or Unmarked Grave also lets you put Gravecrawler for a really low cost and easily enables you to try and combo off as soon as Turn 2 or 3 if you have the right hand. If you ever starts with a pretty slow hand the deck also has a couple of options to try and slow down the opponent's game plan.

Here are the combos in the deck most of them revolves around Gravecrawler ( keep in mind that for it to work you need to have any other Zombie on the board which is not too hard to do) :

Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar = Infinite sacrifice => This combo is probably the one that you will try to get as soon as possible as it is the back bones of the deck and it enables almost all the other combos

Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite sacrifice + Infinite colored mana

If you can't manage to get Phyrexian Altar on board or you want a more budget options you can go for any one of these:

Gravecrawler + Ashnod's Altar + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite sacrifice + infinite colorless mana
Gravecrawler + Viscera seer + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite Sacrifice + infinite scry
Gravecrawler + Carrion Feeder + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite sacrifice + infinite +1/+1 on Carrion Feeder
Gravecrawler + Altar of Dementia + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite Sacrifice + Infinite Mill
Gravecrawler + Blasting Station + Pitiless Plunderer / Rooftop Storm = Infinite dmg + Infinite sac

Once you have a infinite sacrifice combo on board, here's all the other combos it enables:

infinite sac + Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver = Infinite 2/2 Zombies with decayed
Infinite sac + Blood Artist = Infinite dmg + infinite lifegain
Infinite sac + Diregraf captain = infinite dmg
infinite sac + Diregraf Colossus = infinite 2/2 Zombies
Infinite sac + Headless Rider = Infnite 2/2 Zombies
Infinite sac + Midnight Reaper = Draw as long as you have life left
Infinite sac + Undead Augur = Draw as long as you have life left
infinite sac + Zulaport Cutthroat = Infinite dmg + infinite lifegain
infinite sac + Ayara, First of Locthwain = Infinite dmg + infinite lifegain
**Infinite sac + Aetherflux Reservoir = Infinite lifegain + Infinite dmg

Having gravecrawler exiled is probably the biggest weakness of the deck. That is why there are a lot of ways to protect him. There's tons of counterspells that will protect him if he gets targeted by cards like swords to plowshares. Alternatively if you have any sac outlet on the board it is easy to just sac it in response. Unfortunately the deck doesn't have a ton of answers if someone tries to exile him with cards like Deathrite Shaman, besides to counterspells the only thing I could really think of is to have Unholy grotto targets Gravecrawler in the grave to put him back on top of the Library.

If by misfortune Gravecrawler gets exile, the deck has a backup plan.

Triskaidekaphile + ad nauseam = Makes sure you cast ad nauseam at the end of your opponent's turn if Triskaidekaphile is still on the board and gets 13 cards in hand. You then win the game at your upkeep

You can achieve the same goal here with Triskaidekaphile + Necropotence Although way more difficult than with Ad Nauseam because Necropotence gives you card at your endstep and you'd have to make sure that Triskaidekaphile stays on board for a whole round and to not use any cards in your hand until your upkeep which is pretty difficult.

Another backup plan would be to have Bolas's Citadel + Aetherflux Reservoir + Sensei's divining top on the board. Putting the top on top of you library, using life to cast it with Bolas's Citadel, gaining more and more life each turn due to Aetherflux reservoir triggers and ending it with its second ability.

I am still trying to figure out how I can improve this deck. so far I am really enjoying it. If you guys have any suggestions I would love to hear it! :D
