prismari (strix arena) (Limited)

another 3-0 prismari rootha deck...

so the finals was vs the mirror, and i used the counter that lets me look at opp's deck and saw that they had bigger endgame than me. more 7+ cards, magma opus, the elder dragon...so i decided to side in all my 2/2s from the sideboard and try to play a faster game. it worked g2, and i won. g3 i mulled to 5 and felt all was lost. but. the opponent was VERY conservative about attacking into tricks or doing anything risky. and the game tilted on a particular boardstate: i have a couple dorks and a 4/4 quandrix pledgemage; they have a frozen pledgemage from my frost trickster and 2 tome shredders, a 2/2 and a 3/3, with two cards in their graveyard. i attack with a single mountain and shock up, and order the blockers 2/2 first then 3/3, and pass priority. if they let it all go, my pledge and my shock will trad for both. but opp sees the bait...taps the 2/2 to pump it. the shock kills it and boosts my pledge to a 5/5, and suddenly their board has collapsed!

after this, i counter their next spell and get to see their hand: a 7mana spell and captured by the oriq (UUU1) with 1 mountain in play. a really thrilling win on the mull to 5.
