BW cards (chaos draft) (Limited)

chaos drafts obviously have a big range. i ended up with a pretty mundane pile that has a decent curve and decent interaction. i first picked a magma spray that didn't make the deck, and was trying for green white for a bit of the draft. but by pack 3 i had some solid black cards, and i clearly didn't have the fixing to play 3 colors, so i scrambled to get 23 in those 2 colors. crippling blight isn't exactly a good card, and study break didn't have a lesson to find in these colors, but the curve is nice and there is some good removal.

round 1 vs UW i lost g1 to icatian cryer and goldnight commander while drawing infinite lands; i smashed g2 when opp missed some land drops. g3 was a tight one in which i dealt a lot of early damage curving out, but a 4/4 ward 2 and an aetherstorm roc slowed things down and put pressure back on me. the roc hit hard and we raced to the finish, but i was wide enough and breathless knight gained me enough life to get me the win at 1 life.

round 2 vs RW; i killed his first play with anoint with affliction, then dropped a breathless knight. he passed and went for the removal on my t4, and kyodai blew that out. game kinda ended there. g3 he was on 3 lands, but umori and grimnarch on t4 and t5 were too big for his burn spells, and they finished the job ok.

round 3 vs RBg. he flooded a bit g1 and conceded rather quickly. g2 was long - i got out in front and dealt some good damage, but grenzo, dungeon warden as a 6/6 was a big brick wall, and then a 10/10 ignition team made matters worse. my avacynian priest locked down the 10/10, and luckily grenzo's mills didn't yield a lot. opp finally killed priest and attacked the 10/10 into grimnarch, and then i drew removal for grenzo. at this point opp had milled a lot, and it seemed like i was going to be able to just sit back behind a wall of dorks and wait for the mill, so he made an alpha strike and lost too many bodies while putting me to 7 or so life. i cracked back hard and that was the game. it was an odd one; with both ignition team and grenzo i though i could never win, as my deck doesn't really have swingy plays. but i think i got a little lucky, and opp didn't play the best - if ignition team just started throwing 4/4 lands at me, i'm unsure i could've stayed afloat.

won some packs, had a fun time. magic!
