khans has been very fun to draft again. i've drafted variants of this deck all week - lots of 4c-no blue midrange decks that just try to play good cards. this one started out abzan, but i took enough lands to be able to take the red cards that ended up being a bit more open for me. there are some really strong rares in the set, and so being in a position to draft and play them is pretty cool.
i beat boros aggro in the final of the draft; at no point were they really capable of beating a flipped abzan guide.
i beat temur in the middle. their deck was actually ok; double icefeather aven was pretty good at slowing me down, and some of the 5/5 trample morph (and a wandering towershell) could match me on the ground. ankle shanker + a well-timed crater's claws helped turn the tide in a close g3!
i beat 5c match 1. despite a villanous wealth in g3 i managed them pretty handily, curving out and staying ahead.
