a 7-win deck from a fave draft format. i started with a white cycling card, but that deck was, predictably, cut very intensely. but i ended up with two fire prophecy and some other nice red cards, and the end of pack 1 gave me a bunch of decent blue cards on the wheel. i ended up with this aggressively fair midrange deck that has a couple spell synergies alongside a mix of a good curve, solid interaction, and two divinations.
the games generally played out with me getting a little ahead and then leveraging that. the two essence scatter did great work, esp versus companions. sprite dragon and the single rare - the mythos - also tended to perform very well for me. i lost my one game to BW with 3 durable coilbug (!) that just ground me out.
playing modern limited sets make this feel so quaint. a deck with no rares and modest synergies winning 7 games feels unbelievable in modern limited. i like that limited is very deep now, but i do miss just playing cards and having a shot with that.
