chromatic cube has always been code for grixis cube. solid 3-0 with this one.

  • had a couple wins involving young pyro/sedgemoor witch. playing one of those, following it up with tons of removal and/or burn down the house on tokens mode can really turn this into an aggro experience.
  • never played 7 mana bolas, but the 5 mana one and etali did some great work, as they always do. etali has really become an A-level card for me. very hard to pass.
  • indeed, the games often played out more on card advantage and cheaper stuff. i had an agent of raffine on t1 vs a green deck that just dominated the game. they had a slow start and i just kept drawing cards, killed some of their plays, then played their vorinclex into their nissa. also had a prosper game that played out similarly - play all the cards, sit back, kill their stuff. this game involved waiting for midnight clock to blow up, which it did...
  • final game vs green - they led on three dorks but light on lands; meathook massacre blew them all up. removal on the next two mana dorks also, then young pyro + burn down the house (i was actually flooded with expensive cards and missing lands). but the devil tokens + meathook deal 2 when they die, and opp was too far behind to ever really come back.
