4C dimir (drew cube) (Cube)

i'm forgetting one or two other lands that were in the deck, but this gives the basic idea.

opened the draft with entomb vs. tolarian academy. i was so ready to go for the big academy dream, but i got bit by being the 3rd artifacts drafter last time, so i decided to go with what felt like a safer pick. ironically, two people around me were cutting reanimator, and so i still got punished! i took strip mine next, and then swords, and then a string of other solid black cards. the vampiric tutor showed up pack 2 and was intensely welcome, and i opened the crucible and wheeled it in pack 3.

i lost round one to assertive BW. i didn't play great - my thalia math was not up to par - and mother of runes/thalia game 2 really did a number on me. in game 1 i set up strip crucible pretty fast...but they were already at 3 lands, and their curve was low enough that my land destruction dreams were not getting there.

i beat hassler on sultai ramp/reanimation round 2. he stomped me game 1, and i mulled to 5 g2, but kept lands + vamp and entomb. i played crucible t3 from the vamp, and t4 entomb for strip mine. he had two mana dorks in play, which was brutal, but wasn't able to advance much despite that. dark confidant drew me some cards, and eventually harvester of misery wiped his board. oko elked bob and i won from there. in g3 i finally got the t1 library, and just drew cards and played bodies. hassler did nothing until he saw my thoughtseize - 3 reanimation spells (no targets in any graveyard) and a worldspine wurm in his hand. took the match.

played drew m3 on mardu beats. i had t1 library both games...which was insane. he flooded pretty brutally g1, but he still got enough hits in to take me quite low on life. goldspan dragon knocked me to 3, and burst lightning was lethal, but force of will got in the way. from there, oko stabilized everything, and my life total and string of cards from library pulled me ahead. in g2 he led on a savai triome, which got strip mined. turns out this was the only red source he saw for a while...so he took few game actions while i library'ed every turn. his elite spellbinder got turned into a treasure from kitesail larcenist, tidebinder eventually turned off a goldpsan dragon, othari met a mana leak, and a hardcast atraxa found the crucible to start wrapping it up.
