This was the first deck that wanted to build myself post-M19 and now Ravnica. Inspiration taken from other similar decks online. First worked on the main sixty, then the sideboard. Adeliz, the Cinder Wind is the build around.
Adeliz, the Cinder Wind feels fine as 4x as it feels as if you are rarely getting a 2nd copy stuck in your hand and losing. Either she does the work and you're winning, or they remove her and you go again.
Version History:
v4.0: Didn't play this during the last set, but time to dust it off for War of the Spark with some interesting wizards and Heartfire. Test in Bo1 first.
v3.0: New build for new set. Untested currently. 23 spells is the most I've had for a while with Adeliz and the draw engine now all being spells is a boost. Sideboard is now focussed towards combatting burn and sweepers.
v2.7: Opt feels less necessary with the greater number of land for Frenzy. Trying cutting it for the Fields.
v2.6: Now Steam-Kin
v2.5: Trying out Electrostatic Field
v2.4: Not got the Dismissive Pyromancers yet, so trying some Dive Downs after the success of them in mono U.
v2.3: Tipped the land towards red, drafted a sideboard.
v2.2: Trying an Experimental Frenzy but never drawing it!
v2.1: Risk Factor has a home here.
v2.0 Ravnica didn’t necessarily provide the right wizards for this deck, so trying out different options as early drops.
v1.0: Unsummon for Blink of an Eye on the sideboard. Cheaper mana cost is more important.
v0.6: MTG Arena meta is odd. Facing all sorts. Back to basics for a while. Going with clean 4x of all core parts.
v0.5: Trying out some Bomats, but feel other draw engines may synergise better. Insult//Injury for that final burst. Went 1-2 x2 in Arena Comp Constructed.
v0.4: Blue card draw options feel clumsy with Keld. Trying some Aftermath cards that synergise well. Added more spells to sideboard. One mountain there to to allow 21 lands on the play after sideboarding.
v0.3.2: Trying out Anticipate for a little more filtering and draw. Cut a The Flame of Keld and a land to make way. I think 20 lands is probably right with 4x Opt, 2x Anticipate, 2x Chart a Course and 2x The Flame of Keld. Maybe even 19 on the play post-sideboard. Going to try and not make changes for a good few games.
v0.3.1: Moved Siren Stormtamer to sideboard
v0.3: Tinkering with adding more card draw to compensate for mana clunkiness
v0.2.3: Eliminating any early tap lands, although this comes at a cost to red mana in later turns.
v0.2.2: Still trying to get a feel for the optimum mana base. Wanting a red one drop, Riddleform on turn 2 and more red mana thereafter is demanding. Aether Hubs impact on number of basics and aren't suited to a deck that demands mostly coloured sources.
v0.2.1: Unclaimed Territory was poor with so many non-tribal spell cards and there were too many non-basics for Sulfur Falls. They may be next to go.
v0.2: Revamped mana base. Plan is to play 21 lands mainboard, and cut to 20 or even 19 on the draw. Not quite Karsten approved for red 1-drop into Riddleform, but there are other plays. Added 2x Viashino's for further 2-drops and Keld synergy. Moved disruption to first draft of sideboard.
v0.1.1: Added an Aether Hub for an Unclaimed Territory for another blue source of mana T2 for Riddleform. Went 3-2 in one Brewer's Delight event.
v0.1: Went 3-2 in one Brewer's Delight event.
